Ellen Goldman has been working at West Valley since 2012. Before that she worked in the Learning Center at Mission College and taught in the International Student Program there. She enjoys walking in her neighborhood, trying new recipes, reading, and travelling. A Midwest native, she loves the weather and variety of people in the Bay Area.
English
"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat." – Theodore Roosevelt
"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go." – Dr. Seuss
2012
I was working with one of our wonderful Work-Study students who didn't know how to properly work the photocopy machine. He kept trying to make copies from a colored piece of paper rather than the white copy I gave him as a Master copy. He returned with many grayed out copies saying he didn't know why the copy machine wasn't working properly. When I explained he needed to use the white copy and why, we had a good laugh.
