Again, Courses/Programs progress through elumen following the Curriculum Workflows.
Once the course/program workflow gets approval by the Division Dean in eLumen it will then go into a queue for Tech Review which happens every Thursday morning. Generally any workflows that have met their due dates or are early get priority review and then time permitting any late workflows are reviewed. After a quick assessment to ensure all necessary fields are complete the course/program is then put on the agenda for the next Curriculum Meeting; side note if the workflow has a large number of areas that need correction then it can be sent back to the faculty stage for work at which point it may need to progress through all the necessary eLumen approvals once more before once again being considered for placement on a Curriculum Committee Agenda.
Common Areas where in workflow that need to be corrected:
- Methods of Instruction need to be written in present tense and contain some content specific to the course.
The Curriculum Committee Agenda is mailed out on Friday (at least 72 hours in advance of the meeting, following the rules laid out by the Brown Act) and the authors of the course will get an email inviting them to attend the Monday meeting.
