Course Description
This course introduces students to the study of women’s creative work in literature, the visual arts, the performing arts, and feminist arts. The course presents an overview of key women artists across cultures, theories, and methods in scholarship, including the use of gender, race, culture, sexuality, and class as lenses of analysis. Students have opportunities to examine how this scholarship is changing appraisals of women’s contributions to the arts.
