Course Description
This course introduces students to a variety of Pilates exercise techniques on the reformer and mat. Topics include the history, methods, principles, and techniques involved in the original and contemporary exercise sequence on the mat and on the reformer. The instructor emphasizes the techniques of teaching the exercises, and discusses creating exercise prescriptions based on posture analysis. This course is a required course in the Pilates Instructor Certificate of Achievement. Successful completion of the certificate provides students the opportunity to work in the fitness industry as a Pilates instructor.
