Course Description
The course provides an introduction to an interdisciplinary approach to factors that influence health and disease. Topics include an analysis of the social determinants of health, health disparities among various populations and strategies for eliminating illness and disease. In addition, students will be introduced to the epidemiology of infectious and chronic disease, the prevention and control of diseases in the community, and the history and accomplishments of public health.
