Course Description
This course introduces metal sculpture and metalsmithing using casting, fabrication, digital design, and 3D printing techniques. Students work with bronze, silver, and aluminum using investment and ceramic shell molds, green sand casting, and soldering. Contemporary and historical art movements, design, and concepts are introduced. This course gives students an opportunity to develop critical awareness and vocabulary leading to independent critical thinking.
